Axis Engineering & Mechanical Co. WLL has been involved in the following engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) projects and provision of services. Since inception, Axis has a played key role in the development of the oil & gas sector and infra-structure projects by securing major projects. Major Gas processing plant at Messaied Industrial Area, project was awarded to Snamprogetti / Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co. - joint venture in 1998
Gas injection project included gas compression and pipeline at Dukhan Industrial Area; project was awarded to Snamprogetti in 1999.
The project was awarded to Hyundai Heavy Industries on October 2001. The project includes: engineering of offshore platforms and pipelines, installation & commissioning
Project was awarded in August 2006 to Chiyoda / Hyundai Heavy Industries on EPC basis. The Project is to process gas for the Gas to Liquid (GTL) Processing Plant.
Toyo / Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co. were awarded the EPC Project in August 2006. The contract is to process liquids generated from the GTL Plant to produce clean fuel, such as diesel.
EPC contract awarded in October 2005 to a joint venture MIS / OGEC. The project consists of: storage tanks, marine terminal export facilities plus all related electrical / instrumentation and civil packages.
This project included: new refinery expansion from 60,000 BPD to 120,000 BPD, revamping of existing refinery and new condensate refinery. The project was awarded to LG / Lurgi / Mitsui consortium in 1998. The project included financing, EPC and off-take.
The Project is to engineer and construct the main terminal for the new Doha International Airport. Project awarded in April 2006 to Taisei Construction of Japan and TAV of Turkey joint venture.
In 2010 and early 2011 three major projects for commercial buildings (Doha Land and Hamad Hospital) and infrastructure projects (major intersection and road works).
In association with SNC Lavalin of Canada, the Company provided technical support services for the construction of aluminum smelter. Construction of first aluminum smelter in Qatar started in 2008. The Project included a number of construction packages: industrial buildings, concrete silos, infrastructure civil and electrical works, camp facilities for 25,000 persons.
Qatar Foundation has selected the state of the art design for its National Museum designed by Jean Nouvel of France. Five international EPC contractors were invited to bid for the project. Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co. scored highly in technical. The project was finally awarded to Hyundai in October 2011.
Ministry of Electricity & Water - Power Substation : The project was awarded to Axis / Hyundai Heavy Industries early 2000.
The project consists of three high voltage substations and six low voltage substations plus all underground power cables, electrification of the whole area and provision of utilities. The project was awarded to TATA in February 2006.
Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co. secured a major portion of this Phase VII on EPC basis. The project included: power overhead lines and 220 KVA and below substations. The contract was awarded in January of 2008.
Project was awarded to AtosOrigin, a major European information technology company in 2004. The project is to implement SAP and maintain the facilities after installation in all of QP Departments. In addition now the project has been extended to cover other Qatar Petroleum associated company such as Qatargas, LNG, and Rasgas LNG Companies. It is an ongoing service for many years to come.
